I came upon this article that is very appropriate for Christians who are homeschooling or thinking of homeschooling their children:

RECITAL TEA
Recital Tea is a yearly event at the home of Jean Rance's in Queensville. The children have a wonderful time presenting their projects, music, poetry, book reports, etc. to each other. This activity builds confidence in the children and public speaking skills. Each family brings a snack to share afterwards and the adults enjoy fellowship while the children get to know one another in an informal atmosphere of play.
I have posted this activity on the Calendar at the right of this posting for the third Friday of each month at 1:30 except January it falls on the 4th Friday.

Conference Schedule Continued...
October 3rd-4th - Deconstructing Darwin
Location:
Westminster Chapel and the Ezra Institute for Contemporary Christianity, 14 Dewhurst Blvd., Toronto
Web: deconstructingdarwin.com
Atheist groups around the world are gearing up for 2009, to celebrate Charles Darwin's 200th birthday and the 150th anniversary of his book Origin of Species-a book that has caused millions to doubt the authority of Scripture. To prepare for the inevitable barrage of evolutionary propaganda throughout 2009, Creation Ministries International (CMI) Canada (in conjunction with CMI worldwide) has launched its own national campaign: 'Deconstructing Darwin.' These conferences, happening all over the country, are designed specifically to equip Christians with answers to questions that skeptics pose to refute the authority of scripture and attack the Christian faith.
